Clinical Experience in brief:
* Experienced in a wide-range of the field of General Surgery, including Upper GI, Colorectal,
Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic, Thyroid, Breast, Salivary Glands & block dissection of the neck.
* An experienced GI Endoscopist both upper & lower, and perform laparoscopic procedures.
* Experience in Ultrasound scan examination of the abdomen & to less extent the breast &
Thyroid.
* In the past did several urological & chest procedures.
Scientific, Teaching and Academic Experience:
* Involved in teaching since 1970s including involvement in several activities in Iraq, Kuwait,
New Zealand, Malaysia in addition to holding academic positions in Yemen, New Zealand &
awarded Honorary Professor of Surgery from Basrah College of Medicine in 2004.
* Previous Member of the local faculty of FRCS (Glasgow)’ course in Kuwait; Scientific then
General Secretary of the International College of Surgeons – Kuwait section; Associate
Editor of the Journal of Kuwait Medical Association; External Examiner in Kuala Lumpur-
Malaysia for specialists candidates and Basrah-Iraq for undergraduate students &
postgraduate candidates.
* Presented 45 papers in conferences held in several countries around the world.
* Published 93 papers in several journals from several countries around the world, with two
papers quoted in books.
* Reviewer to European Journal of Surgical Oncology since December 2006 & The Lancet
since May 2000.
* Attended and visited 87 conferences & major centres around the world including: Mayo
Clinic-USA, Lahey Clinic-USA, Massachusetts General Hospital & Harvard Medical School-
