Malka Salman Al Saadi

Biography

 

• Born in Baghdad in 1941

• Studied at Al Dahana Primary School and Al Mansoor Secondary School in Baghdad

• Joined the Iraqi Medical College in 1958 and graduated in 1964 among the top 15 graduates

• Finished the rotation internship at Al-Salam (Ilwiyya Maternity Hospital), Al Shaab and Al-Tifl Al-Arabi Hospitals in 1965

• Worked at Tikrit General Hospital 1965-1966

• Finished Residency in OBG at The Republic Hospital (Medical City) 1967

• Worked as OBG practitioner at Al Nasiriya General Hospital 1967-1971

• Studied for the High Diploma in OBG at Baghdad University and graduated in 1972

• Worked at Ana and Hilla Hospitals as a specialist and head of OBG departments 1972-1976

• Left to the UK in a study leave to finish the requirements for the MRCOG after passing the part 1 exam. in Baghdad with distinction 

• Worked at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, North Gate Hospital and Good Hope Hospital in England, as SHO and acting registrar 1977-1981

• Granted the MRCOG in 1981

• Worked at Kut General Hospital as head of the department of OBG 1981-1986

• Worked at Al Habebiya Maternity hospital as head of the department then director 1986-1989

• Joined the teaching staff at Saddam Medical College ( Al Nahrain) in 1989 until retirement in 2006; teaching undergraduate and post-graduate students, examining Iraqi and Arab board students in deferent disciplines and supervising research projects.

• Was granted the title of assistant professor in 2002 and then professor in 2006

• Have 14 published research projects

• Member of the representative committee to the RCOG 1988-1998

• Member of the consultative committee to the minister of health 1987- 1995

• Was granted the FRCOG in 2008

• Worked at AIMST University in Malaysia as a visiting professor from May 2007 to September 2008 and supervised a research project for a Master's degree student

• Moved to Philadelphia, USA in June 2009

• Authored two books both published in the U.S.:" A Doctor from Mesopotamia" ( Arabic) 2014, and" Beyond the Sand Sto
